This is painted from the live model. The composition and colors are unusual in this painting. It gives a strong effect actually detracting from the figure which is strong anyway. I did not want the piece to look like a portrait but more like an interesting unsettling painting.

Hi Dominique! This is an interesting painting. I love the background. It reminds me of a geometric abstract painting. I think it succeeds in creating a tension with the figure but in a pleasing way. There is balance between the two. Well done!
